- Olive oil
- Ground chicken
- Street taco tortillas or white corn tortillas
- Colby jack cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Ranch seasoning
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Smoked paprika
- Parsley
- Bbq sauce
- Ranch dressing
- Iceberg lettuce
- Diced red onion
- Pickled jalapeños
- Bacon bits (optional)
HOW TO MAKE SMASHED CHICKEN TACOS
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef and seasonings into bowl. Mix together and form 1 inch balls to put on eat tortilla.
Smash the chicken onto one side of the tortillas as thin as possible. First heat the pan, add olive oil and place the chicken side down and cook until meat is browned.
Once it is cooked, you will then flip over the taco so the cooked meat is facing up, and cook other side of tortilla for added crunch.
Then you'll place cooked tortillas on the plate and add your favorite toppings.
TIPS AND TRICKS
Chicken: If you do not have ground chicken, you can substitute for ground beef or ground turkey.
Cheese: I used freshly shredded cheese for this quick and easy recipe, because it will melt better. However, you can also use preshredded cheese for convienence. I used colby jack cheese for this recipe. However, you can also use mozzarella, pepper jack, cheddar or white cheddar.
Low Carb: This dinner can be a great lower carb option by substituting the tortillas for carb-friendly tortillas. I used the La Banderita street taco torillas for this recipe.

BBQ Ranch Smashed Chicken Tacos
Equipment
- 1 medium skillet
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 10-12 Street taco flour or white corn tortillas
- 8 oz Colby jack cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning
- 1 ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- Bbq sauce
- Ranch dressing
- Ice berg lettuce
- Diced red onion
- Pickled jalapeños
- Bacon bits optional
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken and seasonings into bowl.
- Mix together and form 1 inch balls to put on eat tortilla.
- Smash the chicken onto one side of the tortillas as thin as possible.
- In a medium heat pan, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and place the chicken side down and cook for 3-4 min or until fully cooked. (I like to smash the tortilla with the spatula to make it extra thin)
- Once it is cooked, flip over and cook other side of tortilla for an additional 1-2 minutes
- Place cooked tortillas on the plate and add your favorite toppings.
